Liebe ist ein süßes Licht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE ITA SPA SPA
Männliche Stimme.
  Liebe ist ein süßes Licht.
Wie die Erde strebt zur Sonne,
  Und zu jenen hellen Sternen
  In den weiten blauen Fernen,
  Strebt das Herz nach Liebeswonne:
Denn sie ist ein süßes Licht.

Weibliche Stimme.
Sieh! wie hoch in stiller Feyer
  Droben helle Sterne funkeln:
Von der Erde fliehn die dunkeln
  Schwermuthsvollen trüben Schleyer.
Wehe mir! doch wie so trübe
Fühl ich tief mich im Gemüthe,
  Das in Freuden sonst erblühte,
  Nun vereinsamt, ohne Liebe.

Beyde Stimmen.
  Liebe ist ein süßes Licht.
Wie die Erde strebt zur Sonne,
  Und zu jenen hellen Sternen
  In den weiten blauen Fernen,
  Strebt das Herz nach Liebeswonne:
Denn sie ist ein süßes Licht.

Liefde is een heerlijk licht

Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Liefde is een heerlijk licht.
Zoals d' aard' de zon wil zoenen
En ook gindse held're sterren
In het wijde blauw, daar verre,
Wil het hart van liefde croonen;
Want zij is een heerlijk licht.

Zie, hoe hoog, als stille spuiers,
Ginds de held're sterren fonk'len:
Weg van d' aarde gaan de donk're,
Somberzware, droeve sluiers.
Wee voor mij, wie doorkliefde
Diep verdriet het hart dat gloeide,
Dat in vreugde vroeger bloeide,
Nu vereenzaamd, zonder liefde.

Liefde is een heerlijk licht.
Zoals d' aard' de zon wil zoenen
En ook gindse held're sterren
In het wijde blauw, daar verre,
Wil het hart van liefde croonen;
Liefde is een heerlijk licht.
