Vol verlangen, bang maar toch ook stralend,
Rustig als de maanbeglansde gouw,
Glund'rend als de zon, ter kimme dalend,
Beid ik, godd'lijke voleinding, jou!

Haast u, mij omhoog te laten vliegen,
Waar planeten draaien onder mij,
Waar bij de levensbron zich palmen wiegen,
