These bonds of gold, these crimson lips,
Filled with lilies, roses and pinks,
And these corals doubly-crimsoned,
And this cheek, equal to the rosy Dawn:
 
These hands, this neck, this brow, this ear,
And the blooming buds on this breast,
And the twin stars of these eyes
Which make men’s souls tremble with wonder -
 
These have brought Love to nest in my breast
Who, large with seed, has a belly full
Of  unformed eggs and egg-white ready
 
And, brooding them in it – at which my heart rejoices
For nine whole months – in a single day hatches for me
A thousand loves, armed with darts and wings.
