In der Föhrde
(Sung text for setting by W. Hess)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es kam ein Nachen gefahren,
drin saß eine süße Dirn.
Die Flut von goldenen Haaren
fiel über die weiße Stirn.

Es stand am einsamen Strande
ein einsames Fischerhaus.
O, lande, du Schifferin, lande
und wirf deinen Anker aus.

Es sang so hold eine Weise,
es lockte im Sonnenschein.
Da lachte das Dirnlein leise
und holte die Ruder ein.

Der Anker von schimmerndem Erze
sank nieder in silberner Flut
und in des Dirnleins Herze
ein anderer Anker ruht.
