Tous deux, s'il glisse un nuage en l'espace,

À l'horizon, s'il fume un toit de chaume,
  Le voir fumer ;
Aux alentours si quelque fleur embaume,
  S'en embaumer ;

Entendre au pied du saule où l'eau murmure
  L'eau murmurer ;
Ne pas sentir, tant que ce rêve dure,
  Le temps durer ;
Mais n'apportant de passion profonde

   veure-la passar;
tots dos, si a l’espai llisca un núvol,
   veure’l lliscar;
a l’horitzó, si fumeja la teulada d’una cabana,
   veure-la fumejar;
als voltants, si flaira alguna flor,
   perfumar-se;
 ... 
però, no aportant més passió profunda
   que adorar-se,
sense cap neguit per els conflictes del món,
   ignorar-los;
i sols, tots dos, davant tot això que lassa,
   sense deixar-se lassar,
sentir l’amor, davant tot això que passa,
   i no passar pas!
