Z gór, gdzie dżwigali strasznych krzyżów brzemię,
Widzieli zdala obiecaną ziemię,
Widzieli światło niebieskich promieni,
Ku którym w dole ciąnęło ich plemię,
A sami do tych nie wejdą przestrzeni!
Do godów życia nigdy nie zasiędą,
I nawet może zapomniani będą!
