Out into the greenery, out into the field!
In God’s capacious world the powerful breast
Breathes far more freely.
As the little stars sparkle on the sky’s expanse,
As the little roses smile with their crimson borders,
Thus joy laughs within our hearts.
Our hats wreathed with oak-leaf greenery,
Our eyes so clear, our
clear and our brows so valiant,
Thus we all stride along.
Round about, the winds breathe a kiss of welcome,
We swing our hats with a friendly greeting
And rhapsodize with a cheerful spirit.
...
Only briskly into the world with song and with sound!
As long as the song of the birds still greets us,
Our song rings forth from our hearts fully and loudly.
As sunnily as springtime yet envelops the flowers,
May our hearts and our rejoicing be filled with bliss,
May gaiety be our lovely bride!
