Rosenzeit! wie schnell vorbei,
    Schnell vorbei
Bist du doch gegangen!
Wär' mein Lieb' nur blieben treu,
    Blieben treu,
Sollte mir nicht bangen.

Um die Ernte wohlgemut,
    Wohlgemut
Schnitterrinnen singen.
Aber, ach! mir kranken Blut,
    Mir kranken Blut
Will nichts mehr gelingen.

Schleiche so durch's Wiesental,
    So durch's Tal,
Als im Traum verloren,
Nach dem Berg, da tausendmal,
    Tausendmal,
Er mir Treu' geschworen.

Oben auf des Hügels Rand,
    Abgewandt,
Wein' ich bei der Linde;
An dem Hut mein Rosenband,
    Von seiner Hand,
Spielet in dem Winde.

Note: the text was written for the novel Maler Nolten, in which it had the title "Refrain-Liedchen". In the 1877 version of the text, stanza 2, line 5, word 2 was "krankem" instead of "kranken".

Agnès

Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
El temps de les roses, que de pressa passes,
que de pressa
te n’has anat!
Si el meu estimat m’hagués restat fidel,
restat fidel,
no tindria tanta angoixa.

Alegres, a les messes,
alegres,
les segadores canten.
Però jo, ai! Amb mala sang,
mala sang,
no puc fer res de bo.

Per tant, m’esquitllo per les prades de la vall,
de la vall,
com perduda en un somni,
vers la muntanya, on mil vegades,
mil vegades,
ell em jurà fidelitat.

Allà dalt, al marge del tossal,
allunyada,
ploro prop del til•ler;
la garlanda de roses al meu capell,
que ell trenà amb les seves mans,
sembla jugar amb el vent.
