Was gestern noch mich wollt' erschlaffen,

com si el Senyor passegés per el camp silenciós.

Jo em sento com engendrat de nou.
On són ara l'aflicció i el destret?
De tot allò que, encara ahir em volia afeblir,
me'n empegueeixo ara a la llum de l'aurora.

En el món, amb el seu neguit i joia,
vull jo, un pelegrí, entrar-hi alegrement,
com si fos un pont cap a Tu,
