Des Müllers Wanderlied
(Sung text for setting by L. Berger)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT CHI DUT ENG FIN FRE GRE IRI ITA KOR POR
Ich hört' ein Bächlein rauschen
Wohl aus dem Felsenquell,
Hinab zum Tal es rauschen
So frisch so wunderhell.

Ich weiß nicht, wie mir wurde,
Nicht, wer den Rath mir gab,
Ich mußte auch hinunter
Mit meinem Wanderstab.

 ...

Ist das denn meine Straße?
O Bächlein, sag', wohin?
Du hast mit deinem Rauschen
Mir ganz berauscht den Sinn.

Was sag ich denn von Rauschen?
Das kann kein Rauschen sein:
Ob wohl die Nixen singen
Da unten ihren Reihn.

Laß singen, G'sell, laß rauschen,
Und wandre fröhlich nach!
Es gehn ja Mühlenräder
In jedem klaren Bach.

Cá raghair?
(Sung text translation for setting by L. Berger)
 See original
Language: Irish (Gaelic)  after the German (Deutsch)
Is clos dom sruth ag léimrigh
As fuarán ’measc na gcreag,
Sa ghleanntán thíos ag léimrigh
Chomh húr chomh gléigeal

Ní heol dom mar a tharla
Nó cé a labhair im chluais,
Ní mór dom bheith ag fánaíocht
Is deir mo mhaide, ‘Gluais!’

 ...

B’e seo an bóthar romhamsa
A shrutháin, labhair, cá raghair?
Táim scaipthe ag do ghlórsa
Is ait liom é mar spadhar.

Ná labhair ar ghlór a thuilleadh
Níl glór ag an sruthán:
Sin iad na béithe coille
Ag glaoch ón duibheagán.

An sruthán lig dó bheith ‘canadh
Is lig do bheith ar fán:
Bíonn brónna muilinn ag casadh
I ngach aon ghlé-shruthán.
