Du bist vom Schlaf erstanden
Und wandelst durch die Au.
Da liegt ob allen Landen
Der Himmel wunderblau.
Weißt nicht, daß, als ohn' Sorgen
Du schliefest schmerzenlos,
Der Himmel bis zum Morgen
Viel Tränen niedergoß.
In stillen Nächten weinet
Oft mancher aus dem Schmerz,
Und morgens dann man meinet,
Stets fröhlich sei sein Herz.

Set to music by Heinrich Triest (1808 - 1885), "Du bist vom Schlaf erstanden", op. 5 no. 2

Tu as émergé de ton sommeil,
Et te promènes de par les champs.
Là, par-dessus tout le pays
Le ciel est merveilleusement bleu.
Pendant tout le temps où sans souci,
Tu sommeillais, sans peines,
Jusqu'au matin le ciel
A versé de nombreuses larmes.
Souvent dans les nuits silencieuses ,
Bien des êtres pleurent de douleur,
Et le matin suivant vous pensez
Néanmoins qu'ils ont le cœur joyeux.
