Stjärnhimmelen
(Sung text for setting by L. Madetoja)
 See original
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
De glimmande ljus
I himmelens hus,
Hur saligt de skåda
På jordenes grus!
Hos dem är ej qval
Och sorg eller våda,
Der Herren får råda
I stjernornas sal.

De vandra sin gång,
Fast vägen är lång,
Och aldrig de vika
För syndernas tvång.
I tusende år
Så brunno de lika
Så klara och rika,
Som ännu i går.

O Gud, som har lagt
osägelig prakt
i stjärnornas lycka,
hur stor är din makt.
Men vi äro stoft;
vi föda och flykta,
när dagarna lykta
som blommornas doft.
