An die Entfernte
 (Sung text for setting by L. Berger)

Language: German (Deutsch)

So hab ich wirklich dich verloren,
Bist du, o Teure, mir entflohn?
Noch klingt in den gewohnten Ohren
Ein jedes Wort, ein jeder Ton.

So wie des Wandrers Blick am Morgen
Vergebens in die Lüfte dringt,
Wenn, in dem blauen Raum verborgen,
Hoch über ihm die Lerche singt:

So dringet ängstlich hin und wieder
Durch Feld und Busch und Wald mein Blick;
Dich rufen alle meine Lieder;
O komm, Geliebte, mir zurück!

Composition:

    Set to music by (Carl) Ludwig (Heinrich) Berger (1777 - 1839), "An die Entfernte", 1808

Text Authorship:

A colei che se n'è andata
 (Sung text translation for setting by L. Berger)
 See original
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Dunque davvero ti ho perduta?
Sei fuggita, o bella, via da me?
Ancora risuona nell'orecchio avvezzo
ogni tua parola, ogni suono.

Così come lo sguardo del viandante al mattino
invano si volge per l'aria,
quando, nascosta nello spazio azzurro,
canta lassù in alto l'allodola,

così vaga desolato daogni parte
per campi e cespugli e boschi il mio sguardo,
te chiamano tutti i miei canti,
o vieni, amata, torna da me.
