Pia Mater cum videbat

Matrem Christi si videret

3. Comme elle était triste et désespérée
Celle qui était bénie,
La mère du Fils unique !
4. Elle s'affligeait et souffrait,
La mère affectueuse alors qu'elle voyait
Les peines de son Fils illustre.
5. Quel est l'homme qui ne pleurerait
S'il voyait la mère du Christ
Dans un si grand tourment ?
6. Qui pourrait sans être attristé
Contempler la mère du Christ
Souffrant avec son Fils ?
7. Pour les péchés de son peuple,
Elle vit Jésus dans le tourment
