In längst vergangenen Zeiten, in Traumzeiten, zur Zeit der Feen,
hätten wir in den Wäldern leben müssen, bei den Maiglöckchen,
unter Zweigen, inmitten gedämpfter Laute,
ohne Wissen, ohne Glauben, frei und glücklich,
genährt vom Licht des Mondes, Tau schlürfend,
hätten wir in den Wäldern leben müssen, bei den Maiglöckchen,
zur Zeit der Feen.

Wir hätten unter zwei gekreuzten Blättern schlafen,
mit der Quelle singen und mit dem Wind lachen können,
gespeist vom Licht des Mondes, gelabt vom Tau ...
der Libelle und der launischen Brise folgen,
mit der Quelle singen und mit dem Wind lachen können ...

Vielleicht hätte Mab, die Feenkönigin, uns eines Tages in Blumen verwandelt
