laß die Trauer, die dich drückte,
Herzens Blume kann nicht welken.
Lächle nicht mit bitterm Lächeln,
stosse mich nicht stumm zur Seite.
Linde Luft wird bald dich fächeln,
bald ist Liebe dein Geleite!
Gib die Hand mir ohne Zittern,
letztem Kuß gib alle Wonne.
Bang' vor Sturm nicht: aus Gewittern
strahlender geht auf die Sonne...
Schau zuletzt die schöne Linde,
drunter uns kein Aug' erspähte.
Glaub', daß ich dich wiederfinde,
ernten wird, wer Liebe säte!

Sereinement laisse-toi embrasser par moi.
Le bonheur ne fleurira pas près de toi,
Il te saluera plus chastement de loin.
Prends les fleurs que j'ai cueillies,
Des roses rouges du mois et des œillets,
Abandonne le deuil qui t'oppresse,
Les fleurs du cœur ne peuvent jamais se faner.
Ne souris pas d'un sourire amer,
Ne me repousse pas silencieusement de côté.
Un air doux bientôt te rafraîchira,
Bientôt l'amour sera à ton côté !
Donne-moi la main sans trembler,
Que le dernier baiser donne tous les délices.
Ne crains pas l'orage : après la tempête,
Le soleil brille plus fort...
Regarde enfin les beaux tilleuls,
Sous lesquels aucun œil ne nous espionnait,
