In den angenehmen Büschen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT ENG FRE
In den angenehmen Büschen,
Wo sich Licht und Schatten mischen,
Suchet sich in stiller Lust
Aug' und Herze zu erfrischen;
Dann erheb't sich [aus]1 der Brust
Mein zufriedenes Gemüte,
Und lobsingt des Schöpfers Güte,

Durch allgemeine Schatten bricht
Ein sanftes Licht,
In welchem Dunckelheit mit sanfter Klarheit schertzet,
Und sich so wunderbar vereint,
Daß öfters jenes Strahl geschwärtzet,
Und dieses Schwartz versilbert, scheint.

G. Händel sets stanza 1

Dans les agréables bosquets
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Dans les agréables bosquets
Où lumière et ombre se mêlent,
En un plaisir silencieux
Les yeux et le cœur cherchent à se rafraîchir.
Alors de la poitrine s'élève
Mon sentiment de satisfaction
Et il proclame la bonté du créateur.
