by (Friedrich) Emil Rittershaus (1834 - 1897)

Horch, die Abendglocken klingen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Horch, die Abendglocken [klingen]1
Und es singt die Nachtigall
Und die Abendwinde singen
In den Schlaf die Blumen all'.
Und die Blumen schlafen alle
Unter Freudenthränen ein,
Und die Blumen träumen alle
Vor der Sonne goldnem Schein.

Und der Nachtigall Gesänge
Trägt ins Land hinaus der Wind,
Und es hört die holden Klänge
In dem Traum ein holdes Kind.
Aus dem maiengrünen Baume
Klingt des Vögleins Liebesflehn
Und die Schöne meint im Traume
In des Liebsten Aug' zu sehn!
