by Joseph Karl Benedikt, Freiherr von Eichendorff (1788 - 1857)

Herbstliedchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Flog Waldvögelein über den See,
Lieb' grüne Zeit, lieb' grüne Zeit; --
Es zogen die Wolken: Ade, Ade!
Wir fliegen mitsammen gar weit, gar weit!

Es schaut Feinsliebchen vom hohen Saal,
Fern ziehn die Ritter im grünen Thal;
Waldvöglein sang immerfort: Ade!
Das that Feinsliebchen im Herzen so weh.

Confirmed with Gedichte aus dem Nachlasse des Freiherrn Joseph von Eichendorff, herausgegeben von Heinrich Meisner, Leipzig, C. F. Amelangs Verlag, 1888, p. 8.
