L'âme des iris

C'est la petite fille pensive
Qui a croisé ses deux mains
Et qui a fermé les yeux
Pour entendre chanter son âme.

Sœur fragile des iris,
Elle se tient là si pâle,
Que peut-être elle est endormie
Au chant léger de son âme jolie.

Alors des cygnes nagent vers elle,
Les lys se mettent à pleurer,
La nuit n'ose plus s'en aller,
Et peut-être c'est qu'elle est morte.

Tout le ciel descend sur son cœur,
Et les étoiles sur ses cheveux,
Et l'ombre met ses mains sur ses yeux :
Et si Jésus était là, il pleurerait.
