Der zerrissne Grabkrans
Language: German (Deutsch)
Auf einem Grab in Stücken
liegt ein zerrissne Kranz,
das Band ist durchgerissen,
wie sollt es bleiben ganz?
Wer weiss, ob er zu lange
nicht schon gehalten hat;
so mag er jetzt zerreissen
und modern Blatt für Blatt.
Was ist's auch, das den Toten
im Grab noch übrig bleibt?
Der Kranz ist welk geworden,
und bald ist er zerstäubt.

La corona de morts esberlada
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
Damunt un sepulcre, a trossos,
hi ha una corona esberlada,
la cinta s’ha esquinçat,
com pot restar sencera?
Qui sap, si potser
ja ha resistit força temps;
així que ara és possible que s’hagi esberlat
i fet malbé fulla per fulla.
Què és doncs el que li resta
al mort en el sepulcre?
La corona s’ha marcit
i aviat esdevindrà pols.
