Du siehst mich nun schon drei Tage heut,
Gedankenvoll Haus und Garten durchgeh'n,
In allen Winkelchen sorgsam spähn,
Und fragst nicht, was mein Suchen bedeut?

Und frügst du mich, so spräch ich in Ruh:
"Ich such einen süßen ros'gen Kuß,
Und weil ich vier Lippen haben muß,
So bitt' ich, leihe mir deine dazu."

Avui ja fa tres dies que em veus,
pensarós, resseguint casa i jardí, 
sotjant amb cura tots els racons
i, no preguntes quin significat té la meva cerca?

I si em preguntessis, et diria amb calma:
“Cerco un bes dolç, color de rosa,
i com per això haig de tenir quatre llavis,
et demano, prestem per favor els teus.”
