Was Menschenkraft und -witz anfäht,
Soll uns billig nicht schrecken;
Denn Gott der Höchste steht uns bei
Und machet uns von ihren Stricken frei.
Er sitzet an der höchsten Stätt,
Er wird ihrn Rat aufdecken.
Die Gott im Glauben fest umfassen,
Will er niemals versäumen noch verlassen;
Er stürzet der Verkehrten Rat
Und hindert ihre böse Tat.
Wenn sie's aufs klügste greifen an,
Auf Schlangenlist und falsche Ränke sinnen,
Der Bosheit Endzweck zu gewinnen;
So geht doch Gott ein ander Bahn:
Er führt die Seinigen mit starker Hand,
Durchs Kreuzesmeer, in das gelobte Land,
Da wird er alles Unglück wenden.
Es steht in seinen Händen.

Ce que le pouvoir et l'esprit humains conçoivent,
Ne doit pas facilement nous effrayer ;
Car Dieu le Très-haut se tient près de nous
Et nous libère de leurs pièges.
Il est assis à la plus haute place,
Il découvrira leur mauvais conseil.
Ceux qui embrassent Dieu dans la foi,
Jamais il ne les abandonnera ou ne les délaissera ;
Il détruit les complots des méchants
Et contrarie leurs mauvaises actions.
Quand ils attaquent avec fourberie,
Méditant des ruses de serpent et des intrigues déloyales,
Pour réaliser leur but diabolique ;
Alors Dieu suit un autre chemin :
Il mène son peuple d'une main ferme,
À travers une mer de souffrance,vers la terre promise,
Où il bannira tous les malheurs.
C'est entre ses mains.
