Ej verden fik at vide den sorg, jeg for dig led,
Jeg ej engang dig fulgte til sidste hvilested.

Jeg sendte ingen blomster at smykke din jomfrugrav,
Min tåre og min tanke var blomsterne, jeg dig gav. 
Endnu en tåre rinder, hvergang jeg mindes dig
Du, som i lön jeg elsked, ak, hvi forlod du mig?
