Was mir der Tag zerrissen,
Die Nacht macht's wieder gut.
Vergnügt am andern Morgen
Erwach' ich wieder dann.

Light‑hearted

At night upon my pillow
There I am light-hearted;
Whatever the day has torn apart,
Night heals it again.
Contented upon the following morning
I awaken again.
The old anxieties are gone
And new ones begin.
