So bebt mein Herz von einem Jubelschrei:
Es muß vorübergehn, was lebt in Erdenräumen --
Ich habe dich, und du gehst nicht vorbei.
Hoch auf am Ararat der Liebe branden
Die wilden Wasser der Vergänglichkeit,
Wir sehn die Welt zu unsren Füßen stranden,
Umstrahlt vom Himmel, der das Grab der Zeit.
