Schön willkommen lieber Tag
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Schön willkommen lieber Tag,
Den mir Gott will senden!
Was in dir auch kommen mag, --
'S kommt von Gottes Händen!
Wird mir Leides zugesandt,
Weiß ich: Liebe schickt es;
Und ein Glück aus lieber Hand,
Doppelt süß erquickt es.
Und wo fand' ich lieb're Hand,
Als die treue Rechte,
Auch für mich an's Kreuz gespannt,
Daß sie Heil mir brächte!
Und die Allmachtshand ist sie,
Stark ob allen Dingen;
Frisch, mein Herz! verzage nie!
Alles wird gelingen.

A warm welcome to you, dear day
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
A warm welcome to you, dear day
That God wishes to send me!
Whatever you may bring to me, --
It comes from God’s hands!
If suffering is sent to me,
I know it was sent by love;
And a happiness from a dear hand
Is twice as sweetly refreshing.
And where could I find a kinder hand
Than the faithful right [hand of Christ],
Which for me as well was nailed to the cross,
In order to bring me salvation!
And it is the omnipotent hand,
Stronger than all other things:
Be bold, my heart! Never despair!
Everything shall succeed.
