Wie Manchen seh' ich nach dem Kuß Des spröden Liebchens streben; Doch folget nicht auch Überdruß Dem Wechsel-Küssegeben? Chor. Ohne Freunde, ohne Wein Mag ich nicht bey Mädchen seyn! Com molts, sospiro per un bes de l’esquiva estimada; però, no queda un tip de l’intercanvi de besades? Cor: Sense amics, sense vi, no voldria estar amb les noies! Qui tanca milers a la caixa i desitja tenir-ne encara més, oblidant-se d’ell mateix i dels amics, pot ser ric, però jo el menyspreo! Cor: Sense amics, sense vi, que siguin rics els altres! Sense cap amic, què és un heroi? Què són els magnats de l’imperi? Què és l’amo del món sencer? Tots han estat mal aconsellats! Cor: Sense amics, sense vi, jo no voldria pas ser emperador!
