Mon dieu, mon dieu, que j’ayme ma Déesse
Language: French (Français)
Our translations:  ENG

My God, my God, how I love my goddess
Language: English  after the French (Français)
My God, my God, how I love my goddess
And the virtues which raise her to the heavens!
My God, my God, how I love her fair eyes,
One of them kind to me, the other full of harshness.

My God, my God, how I love the wisdom
Of her speech, which would delight the gods,
And the sweetness of her gracious smile
Which fills me with a happy lightness.

My God, how I love to hear her chatting
And, completely delighted, to kiss and kiss again
Her white hand when she least expects it!

But, Baif, how could I not truly love
That rare soul which makes her admired
Even by those who do not know her.
