Piccolo und Piccola
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
  Dienten beid in einer Schenke,
schleppten Bier und wischten Bänke.
Piccolo und Piccola.

  Schliefen beid in einer Kammer,
Kauten beid an einem Jammer,
Piccolo und Piccola.

Hart das Lager, kalt der Winter,
Und zwei schöne Bettelkinder,
Piccolo und Piccola.

  Kinderpärchen! Liebespärchen! -
Nur das Ende fehlt dem Märchen
Piccolo und Piccola.

Piccolo and Piccola
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Both served in the same tavern,
lugged beer and wiped benches.
Piccolo and Piccola.

Both slept in the same chamber,
Both chewed at the same misery,
Piccolo and Piccola.

Their bed was hard, the winter cold,
And two lovely beggar-children,
Piccolo and Piccola.

  Child-couple! Pair of lovers! -
All that is missing is the end of the fairy-tale
Piccolo and Piccola.
