Der Lerche wolkennahe Lieder
Erschmettern zu des Winters Flucht.
Die Erde hüllt in Sammt die Glieder,
Und Blüthen bilden rothe Frucht.
Nur du, o sturmbewegte Seele,

Und wirst in goldner Frühlingshelle
Von tiefer Sehnsucht aufgezehrt.

Nie wird, was du verlangst, entkeimen
Dem Boden, Idealen fremd;
Der trotzig deinen schönsten Träumen

Deler

A prop dels núvols, els cants de l’alosa
ressonen quan l’hivern s’enfuig,
la terra cobreix els seus membres de vellut
i les flors generen fruits vermells.

Només tu, oh ànima turbulenta,
només tu no floreixes, reclosa en tu mateixa,
i en el daurat esclat de la primavera,
et consumeix un profund deler.

El que tu anheles no brotarà mai
d’aquesta terra, contrària als ideals,
i que, oposant-se als teus somnis més formosos,
dreça la seva força brutal.

Et fatigues lluitant contra la seva duresa,
abrusat per un vehement deler,
desitjant, com un company de les grues,
d’emigrar a una terra més clement.
