Wenn das Wasser draußen
Von den Scheiben rinnt,
Gieß' mir Wein hier innen
In das Glas geschwind!

Ist das Wetter trübe,
Hell ist doch der Wein,
Hell des Mädchens Auge,
Das ihn schenket ein.

Herrschet denn am Himmel
Heut' der Wassermann?
Kellnerin, so lege
Gleich die Laden an.

Gar zu griesegrämlich
Schauet er herein,
Möchte seinen Regen
Gießen in den Wein.

Sieh nur nach dem Kruge,
Schöne Kellnerin,
Daß er nicht für deinen
Seinen stelle hin!

Lorsque dehors l'eau
Coule sur les vitres,
Verse-moi vite ici à l'intérieur
Du vin dans le verre !

Si le temps est trouble,
Le vin est bien clair,
Clairs les yeux de la fille
Qui le verse.

Est-ce donc aujourd'hui
L'ondin qui règne au ciel ?
Serveuse, alors vite
Arrange la boutique.

S'il est trop grincheux
Et regarde à 'intérieur,
Il pourrait bien verser
Sa pluie dans le vin.

Veille bien sur la cruche,
Belle serveuse,
Qu'il ne remplace pas la tienne
Par la sienne !
