En hoe het gekomen is weet ik niet: 
Maar heur hoofdeken zonk op mijn boezem,
En heur handje drukte mijn hand, zoo 't scheen
Wel zocht ze den toover t'ontglippen
Maar heur blik zei ja, zei heur stemme neen,
En de lippen zochten de lippen.
O liefdezegel! O eerste zoen!
Hoe kunt ge de aarde vergeten doen.
