Evening peace

Now you are resting gently in my arm,
your head leaning against my breast;
a smile hovers around your mouth:
I know you are dreaming about our joy.

From far away an evening song rings
into our quiet little room;
for all our great happiness, how much
too small is my heart, is the whole earth!
