Die Seele füllt!
Wann werd' ich dich an meinen Busen drücken,

Du Lichtgestalt!

Du flatterst oft in früher Morgenstunde
Durch mein Gemach,
Und küssest mich mit deinem rothen Munde
Vom Schlummer wach.

Lang glaub' ich noch den Herzenskuß zu fühlen,
Der mich entzückt,
Und mit dem Strauß' an deiner Brust zu spielen,
Der mir genickt.

Jezt seh' ich dich, im Rauschen grüner Linden,
[Ein goldnes Band]3
Um einen Kranz von Tausendschönchen winden
[Mit weisser Hand]3;

Und bald darauf im kleinen Blumengarten,
Wie Eva schön,
Des Rosenbaums, des Nelkenstrauchs zu warten,
Am Beete gehn.

Erblick' ich dich, die ich vom Himmel bitte,

So komm, so komm in meine Halmenhütte,
Und tröste mich!

Dir soll ein Beet, wo tausend Blumen wanken,

Estimada imatge que amb fogós encís
m’omples l’ànima!
Quan t’estrenyeré al meu pit,
estimada imatge?

Quan prop del rierol, en l’hàlit de la verneda,
m’abraça la son,
se m’apareixes en una blanca vestimenta,
tu, figura lluminosa!

Sovint, a primera hora del matí, aleteges
per la meva estança,
i em beses amb els teus llavis vermells,
desvetllant-me.

Per molta estona creia percebre encara el bes efusiu
que m’encisa,
i jugar amb el pomell al teu pit 
que em fa adormir.

Ara et veig, en la remor dels verds til•lers,
trenar una cinta daurada
i una garlanda de mil petites meravelles
amb les teves blanques mans;

i poc després, en el petit jardí de flors,
ben bé com Eva,
tenir cura dels rosers, de les clavellines,
als planters.

Et veig, la que jo del cel imploro,
et veig,
vine doncs, vine a la meva cabana de palla,
i dóna’m reconfort!

Un planter, on milers de flors onegen,
hauria de florir al teu encontre;
un dosser de joves mareselves
jo vull fer pujar per a tu;

al teu pit, somiar d’anar al paradís,
dolça criatura meva;
i ser més joiós que, dessota els arbres de la vida,
ho són els àngels.
