My voete het nie rus gevra nie, dit was te koud vir staan; my rug het geen gewig gevoel nie, en stormwind dryf my aan. ’n Kaal skerm in die bos bied my nou skuiling teen die weer; my lyf kan egter kwalik rus, my wonde is te seer. Ook jy, my hart, sterk in die storm, stoutmoedig in die stryd, voel nou eers in die stilte hoe jou adder seer kan byt.
