Wenn weit in den Landen wir zogen umher, wie die Heimat, so fanden kein Plätzchen wir mehr. Hast draußen auch erklommen der Wonne Gipfel du, es wird dir nimmer werden der Heimat holde Ruh'. Heimat, o Vaterland! Nichts gleicht der lieben Heimat, dem teuren Vaterland Umrauschen auch Freuden und Glanz unsern Sinn, doch immer zieht Sehnsucht zur Heimat uns hin. Die Reize, die die Hütte der Heimat uns enthält, sie bietet so entzückend kein Ort wohl auf der Welt Heimat, o Vaterland! Nichts gleicht der lieben Heimat dem teuren Vaterland! Der Heimat beraubet lacht nimmer uns Glück. O gebt mir mein Dörfchen, mein Hüttchen zurück! Wie lieblich dort das Liedchen der Vögel mir erklang! Ach, hörte ich doch wieder den lieben holden Sang! Heimat, o Vaterland! Nichts gleicht der lieben Heimat, dem teuren Vaterland.
