by Johann Gabriel Seidl (1804 - 1875)
Translation Singable translation by Anonymous / Unidentified Author

Allein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn alles ruhig ward bei Nacht,
kein Laut umher sich rührt,
und nur der Mond als stille Wacht
den Chor der Sterne führt,
wenn Alles rings so grabesstumm
im Sarg des Schlafes ruht,
da blick' ich wie erlöst herum
und denke: Nun ist's gut!

Nun bin ich mein, bin mein, bin mein,
die Welt gehöret mir,
ich bin ja einmal doch allein
mit mir, und, Gott, mit dir.
Die ihr mich quält so unbewusst,
ihr schlaft und lasst mir Ruh';
Herr bin ich meiner wunden Brust,
o blute, blute zu!

Kein unberuf'ner Arzt will dann
zur Qual mein Retter sein;
da kann ich weinen, beten,
nachhängen süßer Pein.
O die ihr Schlaf bedürft, o tauscht,
nehmt allen hin den mein',
mein Glück ist Wachen unbelauscht
allein, allein, allein!

Tutto solo
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Se tutto intorno immerso sta
nel grembo di sopor,
e luna amica unita va
cogl' astri in bel chiaror,
e se a talun oppresso sen
conforto il sonno da,
respiro nuova vita già:
Or, or va tutto ben!

Poi s'apre alfin il chiuso cor,
il mondo è mio allor,
e tutto solo son con me,
con me, o mio Iddio, con te.
Voi che affannate l'egro sen,
sapeste il mio dolor!
Dolce è omai sognar almen,
pria che si spezza il cor!

Niun medico tenta a sanar
la piaga dell' amor;
pianger poi posso, orar, pregar,
a ristorarmi il cor.
Cui mai la notte insonne fù,
del sonno or goda il ben;
io veglio, e non desio più
che d'esser solo almen!

From the Abenheim score.
