Nun laßt uns den Leib begraben, Bei dem wir kein'n Zweifel haben, Er werd am letzten Tag aufstehn, Und unverrücklich herfürgehn. Erd ist er und von der Erden Wird auch [zu Erd wieder]1 werden, Und von Erden wieder aufstehn, Wenn Gottes Posaun wird angehn. Seine Seel lebt ewig in Gott, Der sie allhier aus seiner Gnad Von aller Sünd und Missetat Durch seinen Bund gefeget hat. Sein Arbeit, Trübsal, und Elend Ist kommen zu ein'm guten End. Er hat getragen Christi Joch, Ist gestorben und lebet noch. [Die Seele lebt]2 ohn alle Klag, Der Leib schläft bis am letzten Tag, An welchem ihn Gott verklären, Und der Freuden wird gewähren. Enterremos ahora el cuerpo, que –no nos cabe duda alguna – se alzará el último día y surgirá incorrupto. Polvo es, nacido del polvo, y también regresará al polvo. Y del polvo resurgirá cuando suene la trompeta de Dios. Su alma vive eternamente en Dios, quien, por su gracia, de todo pecado e iniquidad la ha liberado con su alianza. Sus trabajos, tribulaciones y miserias han llegado a buen fin. Ha portado el yugo de Cristo, murió y ahora vive. El alma vive sin lamentarse. El cuerpo duerme hasta el último día, en que Dios lo transfigurará y le concederá la alegría. Aquí ha conocido el miedo, pero allí se recobrará. En la alegría y el gozo eternos brillará como el bello sol. Dejémoslo ahora que duerma aquí y prosigamos todos nuestro camino. Resignémonos también nosotros con empeño, pues la muerte nos llega por igual.
