by Konstantin Konstantinovich Romanov, Grand Duke of Russia (1858 - 1915)

Davno li, kazhetsya, bol`noj, neterpelivy'j
Language: Russian (Русский)
Davno li, kazhetsya, bol`noj, neterpelivy'j,
‎Trevozhno tak, s tomleniem, s toskoj,
V muchitel`nom bredu, to grustny'j, to schastlivy'j,
‎Ya ozhidal svidaniya s toboj?

I nakonecz nastal zhelanny'j chas svidan`ya,
‎I vsej dushoj otdavshisya emu,
Ne naxodil ya slov i, pritaiv dy'xan`e,
‎Prislushivalsya k schast`yu svoemu.

V izby'tke radosti usta moi nemeli,
‎Mutilsya um, kruzhilas` golova, —
YA tak blazhenstvoval! No ne proshlo nedeli,
‎Kak razdalis` proshhal`ny'e slova.

I mne ne veritsya, chto nayavu to by'lo:
‎Net, to by'l raduzhny'j, volshebny'j son,
I kak vo t`me nochnoj pomerkshee svetilo,
‎Mgnovenno proletel i sginul on!

To lixoradochny'j by'l bred uma bol`nogo, —
‎Net prizrakov, uzh smolkli golosa.
I na dejstvitel`nost` ya raskry'vayu snova
‎Slezami obozhzhenny'e glaza…
