Я знаю, ты любовь мою не презираешь,
Но холодно ее молениям внимаешь;
Так мраморный кумир на берегу морском

Стоит, — у ног его волна кипит, клокочет,
А он, бесчувственным исполнен божеством,
Не внемлет, хоть ее отталкивать не хочет.
