by Nikolai Platonovich Ogaryov (1813 - 1877)

Byla chudesnaja vesna!
Language: Russian (Русский)
Byla chudesnaja vesna!
Oni na beregu sideli -
Reka byla tikha, jasna,
Vstavalo solnce, ptichki peli;
Tjanulsja za rekoju dol,
Spokojno, pyshno zeleneja;
Vblizi shipovnik alyj cvel,
Stojala temnykh lip alleja.

Byla chudesnaja vesna!
Oni na beregu sideli -
Vo cvete let byla ona,
Jego usy jedva cherneli.
O, jesli b kto uvidel ikh
Togda, pri utrennej ikh vstreche,
I lica b vysmotrel u nikh
Ili podslushal by ikh rechi -
Kak byl by mil jemu jazyk,
Jazyk ljubvi pervonachal'noj!
On verno b sam, na `etot mig,
Rascvel na dne dushi pechal'noj!..
Ja v svete vstretil ikh potom:
Ona byla zhenoj drugogo,
On byl zhenat, i o bylom
V pomine ne bylo ni slova;
Na licakh viden byl pokoj,
Ikh zhizn' tekla svetlo i rovno,
Oni, vstrechajas' mezh soboj,
Mogli smejat'sja khladnokrovno...
A tam, po beregu reki,
Gde cvel togda shipovnik alyj,
Odni prostye rybaki
Khodili k lodke obvetshaloj
I peli pesni - i temno
Ostalos', dlja ljudej zakryto,
Chto bylo tam govoreno,
I skol'ko bylo pozabyto.
