by Volodymyr Mikhaylovych Navrotsky (1847 - 1882)

Do lastivky
Language: Ukrainian (Українська)
Ljuba lastivočko, mylyj ptašku mij,
Ty mene ne kydaj, ne lety v vyrij!
Pidnesys' do chmary, poverny dolom
Ponad našym krajem, nad našym selom!
Do moho vikoncja, spustys', prylyny,
I radisnu pisnju meni zadzvony,
I holoskom svoïm [tuhu mni]1 rozvij —
Zaždy, ščebetuško, ne lety v vyrij!
A lastivka kaže: „Ne vderžyš mene!
[Mene taja]2 tuha z vikoncja žene.
A ljude lychiï honjat' zponad strich,
I v chmarach šče čuty [ïch pakisnyj]3 smich.
Ni voli, ni [myru, ni soncja — tvij]4 kraj!
Ne haj mene, druže, — ja [leču]5 u raj!“
