Just recht
Gebt's Achtung, ihr Leutln, vertrau'n will ih's eng.
Nit z'wild ist's, nit z'schön; denn wär's wild, geb's a G'schra,
dass wås s'ihm håt zubråcht, it vorwerf'n kånn.

Just Adequate
Language: English  after the German (Lower Austrian)
There are many pretty lasses around,
but I have my own one and look for no other.
You don't know why I'm so attached to her?
Well, lads, pay attention, I'll tell you:
She's neither too tall nor too small; when I want to kiss her,
I need neither stretch nor stoop.
She's neither too thick nor too thin, because
I could love neither a lean nor a fat one.
She's not too rough and not too pretty; were she rough, there would be fighting,
and were the lass too pretty, other lads would like her too.
She's neither too young nor too old, she's just the right age,
and I think it an advantage that she's not too clever.
She's neither too rich nor too poor; her dowry is just so big
that she cannot hold against me what she's brought into marriage.
She's just adequate and suits me quite well,
and therefore I shall be very happy with her.
