Beruhigung

Soothing
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
When that my heart by care is stirr'd, I hum a little song that haunts me; the words of it I never heard, the tune is what alone enchants me. Down to my cradle sometimes bent my mother's loving lips, her singing the needful sleep from me that went once more to eyelids weary bringing. A child that slumber never will, low to itself is heard bewailing, Yet soon the restless heart grows still, this tune of mine its pain dispelling.
