Hej, a mohi hegy borának húsz forint az ára,
Ha a magyar bankó folyna, annyit adnék rája.
Ha én megválthatnám a Kossuth bankóját,
Mindjárt megölelném galambom derekát.

Hej, eladtam magyar pénzér virág szarvú ökröm,
Szántani kellene: nines min, szép telkem, örököm.
Sem ökör, sem bankó, hallodé te, Jankó,
Igen sok pénz nem jó, pallag a rozstalló.

I would immediately hug my sweetheart's waist.

Hey, I sold my ox with flowery horn for Hungarian money,
We should be plowing: there is no field, my sweet soul, my inheritance,
No ox, no money, do you hear me Johnny,
Yes, much money is not good, the rye field lies fallow.
