Das Veilchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Warum, geliebtes Veilchen, blühst
Du so entfernt im Tal?
Versteckst dich unter Blätter, fliehst
Der stolzen Blumenzahl.

Und doch voll Liebreiz duftest du;
Sobald man dich nur pflückt,
Uns süßre Wohlgerüche zu,
Als manche, die sich schmückt.

Du bist der Demut Ebenbild,
Die in der Stille wohnt,
Und den, der ihr Verdienst enthüllt,
Mit frommen Dank belohnt.
