res comparat amb el joc de les espases, el llampegar de les armes!
La pau eterna ens fou atorgada,
la força dels punys, a la son empenyorada.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . certament – no fa gaire temps
hem brandat l’espasa lacerant
i ardits hem lluitat a vida o mort;
ara però, els dies de les grans batalles s’han esvanit
i el que ens ha restat d’aquells dies,
s’ha acabat, ben aviat, ai las! Seran tan sols llegendes.
