Co toną w modrym mroku
I zanurzają nagie
Korzenie swe w potoku.

U stóp ich senny strumień
Migocze w leśnej debrze,
A górą ciągną chmury
W miesięcznym, chłodnym srebrze.

Wiatr gna je bezszelestny...
Noc czarodziejsko cicha...
Do morze wzdycha fala,
Do gwiazd pieśń moja wzdycha...

De maan kleurt zilver de berken,
Die wegzinken in het donkerblauw
En naakt onderdompelen
Hun wortels in de beek.

Aan hun voeten schittert
de slaperig beek in het bosvallei,
en in de hoogte trekken de wolken voorbij
in het maanlijke, koude zilver.

De wind drijft hen geruisloos…
de nacht betoverend stil…
tot de zee zucht de golf,
tot de sterren zucht mijn borst…
