from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Wenn i zum Brünnle geh
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn i zum Brünnle geh,
seh andre Mädle steh,
all stehn bei ihrem Schatz,
wer steht bei mir?

Mei Mutter mag mi net,
und kein Schatz han i net,
ei, worum stirb i net,
was tu i do?

Gestern is Kirchweih g'we,
mi hot mer g'wiß ni g'seh,
denn mir is gar so weh,
i tanz ja net.

Wenn i nu g'storbe bin,
tragt mi zum Kirchhof hin,
legt mi ins Grab hinei:
wer weint um mi?

Laßt die drei Rösle stehn,
die an dem Kreuzle blühn.
Hänt ihr das Mädle kennt,
das drunter liegt?
